Our Priorities
We at Cedar Ridge seek to worship God in spirit and truth, and we place an emphasis on clear, sound Bible teaching and the Holy Spirit's application of God's truth in our lives.

Cedar Ridge has a fourfold goal:

Our History
The church began with a small cluster of families in January 1988. By the beginning of March 1989, Pastor Joe Rostollan became the first pastor and has continued since that time. Pastor Joe, a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, said the church's mission statement is "Helping people mature so they can influence others for Jesus Christ" (Matthew 28:1820.)

"We diligently strive to preach the whole counsel of God in an expositional fashion," he said. "As a people, we strive to pray diligently, faithfully pursue personal holiness and build our families on biblical foundations. Our worship services are God-centered and seek to magnify the Lord Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith."

Cedar Ridge is affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America, an association of 1,300 autonomous churches united by a mutual commitment to serve the Lord Jesus Christ with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and obedience to the word of God.

The denomination is committed to cooperate with one another in ministry and fellowship as it seeks to fulfill the great commission which Christ has entrusted to His church. The growing ministry of the EFCA currently extends to some 45 countries of the world.

For nearly 14 years the congregation has met in a leased space in the Southland Shopping Center. The congregation is now comprised of approximately 175 people.

In addition to worship services and Sunday school classes for all ages, the church has a Wednesday night program called "Friends and Family,"' which hosts activities and events for children, teenagers and adults. The activities include Bible studies, singing and fellowship, as well as game times for children from preschool to teens.

Much change has occurred since the new church property was selected in September 2002. By November of that year, the land was purchased and the building project was started in September 2003 with some initial labor from an service organization called "Hard Hats for Christ."

One year later, Sept. 5, 2004, the congregation held its first service in the new building, located south of Harrisonville on the north side of State Highway 7, about 2 miles east of U.S. 71 Highway.

The new building was also constructed debt free with more than 80 percent of the labor coming from both the skilled and unskilled hands of those in the congregation.
